Getting Lost in Montpellier, Languedoc
If you’re taking a holiday in the Languedoc region of France then I would certainly advise a visit to Montpellier, the capital of the region. However I would warn you of one thing. Montpellier is a big city with many sprawling suburbs surrounding the city center. On a couple of occasions I have driven into the city and every time I seem to get lost. I should mention that I consider myself a fairly competent driver with a good sense of direction, so I’m not entirely to blame. The fact is that if you don’t know the city inside out it is all too easy to wind up lost in the suburbs which, to my eyes, all look the same.
