Uses of Oak Kitchen Units

An oak “kitchen unit” can be a very useful, attractive piece of kitchen furniture, especially in kitchens with limited counter space. I wish I had owned one in my last house, where I had to cook chicken on a rotisserie on top of the washing machine! That example may be a bit drastic, but just go to an oak kitchen furniture website and see what they have to offer. Their kitchen units are among the best examples of traditional craftsmanship, including strong and distinctive dovetail joinery. My mom keeps her microwave on top of her kitchen unit, but you can do what you want with yours. Of course, the kitchen units also have drawers and cabinets for storage underneath.
