Reporting on Cancer
My name is Katie, and I’m in ninth grade. For health, we have to do a report on various types of cancers. My report is on Mesothelioma. Apparently, this cancer is usually caused by inhaling asbestos. Asbestos is a mineral with thin crystals. It’s highly resistant to heat, and the Greeks called it a “miracle mineral” because of that fact. This type of cancer develops in the mesothelium, usually in the cavity around the lungs and heart. The mesothelium is the protective lining that covers most of the body’s organs. It’s a pretty interesting disease. I sure hope I never get anything like it, though! I better get an A on this report.
